After serving 18 years in the State Penitentiary, I was released in Oroville and went to the Hope Center. While there, they provided me with basic survival services; clothes and food, but also the staff showed me kindness, courtesy, respect and most of all, the love of Jesus. I began a journey of discipleship class, connected with a local church and I was able to get a job. I led the Parolee Process Group, got married and began to be contributing member of society and a provider for my family. I am a husband, a father and a man after God’s heart.
Life Academy is a collaboration that includes The Hope Center, the ACADC Institute, local agencies, and churches to provide free basic life education in order to effect a positive change in peoples’ lives. This helps them to contribute to the community, creates a better environment for individuals, businesses, and law enforcement personnel. It even saves tax-payer dollars.
